YOUth Ignited: Why Community Advocacy Is More Important Than Ever youth training

Youth from Parent Centers the Southeast United States are invited to join this virtual training led from Tennessee by TNSTEP.

We’ll explore real ways to speak up and become an influencer on issues that matter to us, from our hometowns to our state capitols and beyond.

We’ll also have a surprise guest, hint: it could be a state senator or representative from Tennessee! They’ll share why it’s important for decision-makers to hear from youth and answer questions about their work and priorities.

Whether you’re building confidence and self-advocacy skills at school or ready to become a change-maker in your community, you’ll leave this training with inspiration and practical strategies to use your voice.

This training will cover:

• Major movements in the disability community inspired by single voices
• When, how, and where youth can use their voices to make a difference in their communities and beyond
• How to find and connect with local and state leaders about issues that matter to you and others with disabilities, including a visit and Q&A with a state leader from Tennessee
