ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) is a serious eating disorder that may impact up to 15% of school-age children and youth.
ARFID doesn’t stop at the lunchroom door—it can shape a student’s entire school day. Sensory sensitivities, anxiety around food, unpredictable routines, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and social situations involving food can all make the school day challenging. This webinar will help families and educators better understand how ARFID can show up at school and explore practical ways to support students throughout the day. Participants will also learn about school-based supports, including IEPs, 504 Plans, Individualized Health Plans, accommodations, and strategies for working collaboratively with school teams to help students with ARFID feel safe, included, and ready to learn.
