Description:
The Virginia Mental Health Access Program (VMAP) is a statewide initiative that increases access and improves mental, behavioral, and emotional health and development by providing education, consultation, and care navigation to medical providers of infants, children, adolescents, young adults, and pregnant & postpartum people. Services include the VMAP line and Provider Education (training for providers). Specifically, the VMAP Line is a statewide service with regionally-based teams. These regional teams are familiar with PCPs and their practices, local trends and needs, and resource availability. Mental health consultation to Providers and case management to families refered by Providers, as well as early childhood specialists, are available via the VMAP Line. Note that case management is only offered through a referral from a Provider.
