Virginia Institute of Autism offers school, home and community based services for children with autism. Services include behavior therapies, diagnosis and assessment, speech language therapies, and parent training and behavioral supports. The James C. Hormel School offers a year-round, state of the art, evidence-based educational and clinical program formulated to maximize student and family outcomes. Home and school based intervention for individuals age 2-22. Speech language therapy focuses on articulation; receptive, expressive, and pragmatic language, alternative-augmentative communication, and childhood apraxia of speech. Parent training includes an intensive 6-week training course, intensive caregiver training, and crisis training for families.
