Vencinos Unidos Volunteers assist students in grades 1-6 with school assignments and projects. In addition to completing required schoolwork, students receive help with study skills and organization of assignments. Whenever possible, VU works with the students schools to better align assistance. The program seeks to foster a positive attitude toward homework and school and thus bring about an improvement in grades. Healthy drinks and snacks are provided to ensure that students are better able to focus on their work. Parents are required to escort students to the door for check-in and to come to retrieve and sign out their children by 6:00 p.m.
