Description:
TTAC Region 4 Office is Virginia Department of Education's Training and Technical Assistance Center at George Mason University. Specialists provide professional development that focuses on improving academic outcomes for students with disabilities through targeted technical assistance (TA) to schools. The goal is to help school personnel gain knowledge and skills to prepare students with disabilities for graduation with a diploma or completion of an appropriate program, and successfully prepare them for post-secondary education, employment, and independent living. Focus areas include assistive technology, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Co-Teaching, Early Childhood Special Education, Family Engagement, Intellectual Disabilities, Literacy, Secondary Transition, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Virginia Tiered Systems of Support. They also assist with the I m Determined project.
