Description:
The Sensory Rooms in the Jim Scott Community Center and Lorton are a relaxing and calming environment that offers a variety of sights, sound, and interactive elements that promote stress-free engagement and physical and intellectual development, especially for young children. The room has a vibrant combination of lights, sounds, textures, touch pads, and swings to offer a variety of opportunities to explore. The physical and intellectual benefits include improved communication and social skills; enhanced concentration, focus, and memory; promotes leisure education; and reduced stress. The Sensory Room is available by appointment only, Monday through Saturday 9am-10pm.
