The Eric Monday Foundation strives to raise awareness and remove the stigma related to mental health issues. The foundation seeks to promote empathy and selfless dedication in the support of teammates, the will to overcome personal setbacks, wrestling as a vehicle for personal success, and wrestling s a unique quest for developing mental and physical strength. The website has information about the culture of high school athletics, stressors in athletics, hazing and bulling based on power and dominance, and the use of alcohol and other drugs by high school student athletes. The foundations has developed a program to educate Coaches, Activities Directors and Trusted Advisors to recognize the signs surrounding mental health, where to go for assistance and most importantly to take down the stigma surrounding mental health. The Foundation also assists aspiring youth and high school athletes to attend clinics, camps and tournaments by providing stipends, scholarships and expenses.
