The Closet services to equip foster parents with the basic gear and essentials to get them through those chaotic first few days or weeks, with an unexpected child added to their household. Some children will stay only a few days, some for much longer. Children often come to foster parents with nothing, not even clothing. Baby gear, especially, is a huge expense for foster parents when the child may stay only a short time. The Closet operates in conjunction with the Fairfax County Foster Care & Adoption Association.
