The Arc of Greater Prince William offers a comprehensive social and recreational program for people with disabilities of all ages and abilities. Wellness for Life operates throughout the school year and includes a physical therapist who incorporates physical activities from more than 100 possible exercises. Some individuals participate in weight training while others join in the walking group. Each year the Arc hosts at least 4 dances for teens and adults. These seasonal dances have included Halloween, Winter Holiday, St. Patrick’s Day, and a themed Spring Formal. Dances are a chance to socialize with old and new friends, and enjoy some good food. Summer programs might include a transition program; day trips to places such as amusement parks, museums, and day cruises; evening activities such as movie and game nights, cookouts, and karaoke.
