Sunshine Psychiatry helps children and young adults in the Virginia and Maryland community reach their greatest potential by addressing their mental health challenges through expert psychotherapy and medication management. They tailor our care to each patient based on comprehensive, continual evaluation of their needs – from their stressors, symptoms and medication regimen, to their family and social history, support systems and life goals. They emphasize active discussion and involvement of the patients (and their parent or guardian if the patient is under 18) in care planning, and want them to be empowered to make informed treatment decisions, personalized to their unique concerns and wants. They focus on caring for patients age 5 to 30 through telemedicine for patients’ convenience and to leverage children’s and young adults’ ease with online interactions.
