Available to Fairfax County and Falls Church families, Family Peer Support Partners (FPSPs) are trained parents and caregivers who use their personal experience to offer support for parents and caregivers of youth diagnosed with mental health or substance use. FPSPs understand first-hand the challenges families may experience because they have navigated mental health and substance use systems with their own child.
FPSPs offer a number of services and supports to families of children and youth through age 21 who have behavioral and emotional health needs, including identification of family strengths, encouraging and supporting the family to achieve desired outcomes, advocating for child’s needs in a proactive manner, and connecting with effective family supports, services, and treatment options. Services are available free of charge to families.
