Description:
PEATC Youth Empowerment Transition Council (YET) is a program meant to empower young people ages 14-26 with disabilities in Virginia. This group helps youth gain knowledge to become empowered self-advocates, successfully transition into adult life, and to be an active leader in their community. It offers a chance to create new friendships, learn or improve self-advocacy skills, get school and work recommendation letters, gain volunteer hours, and earn special prizes for participating in various activities. YET meets virtually most of the time and asks for a one year commitment to the program.
