POAC-NoVA works to improve the quality and quantity of education for students with autism in Northern Virginia through advocacy, community education, and support group meetings Members regularly with the decision makers in Northern Virginia school districts, carefully follow the education budget process at the local and state leve, and advocate when support programs are in jeopardy. POAC-NoVA holds educational community meetings on topics of interest such as expert advice on developing a successful IEP for your child, inclusion opportunities within schools, and adapted sports and recreation opportunities. They also offer support group meeting for parent several times per year.
