North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC)


Description:
NACAC is committed to meeting the needs of waiting children and the families who adopt them, through advocacy, education, adoption support, and leadership development. NACAC supports parent groups and other community leaders; hosts a comprehensive adoption training conference; conducts training sessions and workshops on adoption subsidy, child welfare reform, and transracial adoption; offers leadership training to adoptive, foster, and kinship parents; creates and disseminates publications that provide resources, information, and support to adoptive families and prospective adopters. NACAC also provides phone consultation and materials to address parents' questions about adoption subsidies for children with special needs NACAC has volunteers in Virginia to assist adoptive families in finding needed resources. They also host an annual conference and young adult leadership and advocacy training.
