Newport News Behavioral Health Center has residential treatment programs for children and adolescents. The Children's program provides immediate acute inpatient treatment services for children ages 8 to 17 experiencing distress due to a broad range of psychiatric symptoms. Treatment includes individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, medication management and psychoeducation. The Center offers a number of treatment options for adolescents ages 11 21. Among these are inpatient treatment, residential treatment and substance abuse treatment, as well as the Project Valor program for sexually abusive males.
