Description:
The National Foster Parent Association is a non-profit, volunteer organization formed to meet the needs of foster families in the United States. It seeks to support foster parents in achieving safety, permanence and well-being for the children and youth in their care. The National Foster Parent Association sponsors an annual education conference and offers scholarships to NFPA members whose birth, foster and US adopted youth wish to further their education beyond high school, including college or university studies, vocational/technical school or junior college. The Helen Stone Memorial Scholarship is awarded to current foster, adoptive, or kinship caregivers to provide assistance in attending the National Foster Parent Association's annual education conference.
