Opened in 2018 on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, the adolescent psychiatry inpatient unit provides care for adolescents (ages 14 17) who require stabilization and short-term treatment for emotional, behavioral, and psychological needs. This unit has 15 beds: 13 private rooms and 2 semi-private rooms. The program provides a full spectrum of mental health services including comprehensive mental health assessments, psychiatric and medical evaluations, nursing and social work care, group therapy, education on symptom management, family meetings, collaboration with schools and other providers, and aftercare and discharge planning.
