Helping Hands serves kids in grades 1-8. Students at Helping Hands are given a low-stimulus environment, immersed with Occupational Therapy, language pragmatics, and Social Thinking curriculum to acquire the skills needed to grow and thrive. Multiple movement breaks throughout the day allows for new knowledge to be processed and increased ability to retain and comprehend higher-level academic challenges. Movement decreases frustration tolerance, dysfunctional movement-seeking behaviors, and increases overall attention to task. Social Thinking awareness is everywhere. It occurs within every academic day, in peer interactions, and in supported community learning environments.
