Head Start and Early Head Start

Description:
Head Start is an income-based federal program that serves children up to the age of five, and pregnant women, from low-income families. Head Start helps prepare children for success in school through early childhood education, services for children with disabilities, healthy meals and snacks, helping pregnant women find pre-natal care, helping families find health care, including dental and mental health care, and offering parenting workshops, events and one-on-one training. There are full day, full year programs that operate year round and school day programs that operate September through June.
