Description:
Fairfax County has six emergency shelters for individuals and families who are homeless. These shelters are operated by community nonprofit organizations under contract with the county. The shelters have additional capacity during winter months to take in people overnight who are at risk of hypothermia. Shelters located in Fairfax, Reston, Falls Church, Bailey's Crossroads, Richmond Highway-Ft. Belvoir, and Reston.
