Dominion Hospital treats children ages 5-12 and adolescents ages 13-17 with emotional and behavioral health problems. Services include inpatient stabilization for young people who are challenged with an acute behavioral health issue. There are separate and distinct programs for each age group. Treatment plans involve collaboration with outpatient treatment providers and emphasize patient and family education to help everyone involved better understand emotional health issues and symptom management. Services include: Medication management; Supportive medical care; Therapeutic milieu (environment) setting; Behavior modification; Group therapy; Nursing education groups; Psycho-education groups; Activities therapy; Pet therapy; and Family discharge planning sessions. Outpatient services are provided for patients who are able to maintain their work schedules while working to improve their overall health in a supportive and calming environment.
