Camp Friendship is a camp for children age 3-14 who need to work on social, communication, and friendship skills. Camp activities include indoor and outdoor playtime, games, arts & crafts, water play, collaborative projects, and sports, While having fun kids work on flexibility, peer relationships, social awareness, social cues, and group collaboration. Campers also work on school preparedness skills such as following the schedule, working with a group, being flexible, and waiting nicely. All activities are embedded with social and communication goals. The hidden curriculum includes friendship skills such as finding things in common with others, conversation starters, how to engage in small talk, working constructively within a group, perspective-taking, listening, showing empathy, reading social cues and body language, managing stress and anxiety, and calming techniques.
