Autism FYI Organization created the IRIS (Immediate Recognition Increases Safety) Program which is a National Autism Registry designed to help emergency responders recognize needs through the use of easily recognizable logos. ID tags with pertinent info on USB, GPS and RF trackers, clothing and patches with the logo will help bring that same benefit of quick recognition to those in the community. There is a 24 hour hotline for access to the member's profile and they provide standard script training for registrants and emergency personnel to help facilitate calm interactions. In the future the Registry hopes to establish Spectrum Heights, a self-sustaining community for independent adults on the Autism Spectrum and their aging parents.
