A New Story Advocacy

Contact:

Description:
A New Story is a special-education advocacy service for families in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia whose children have autism, dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety, speech and language delays, or complex needs. It helps parents understand their rights and navigate the special-education process — reviewing IEPs, 504 plans, and evaluations; preparing families for school meetings; drafting letters and requests; and advising on evaluations and school placement. It also maintains a free online resource with plain-language guides, letter templates, a directory of local specialists and schools, and a guided observation tool, available in English and Spanish. The first consultation is free, pricing is flat and transparent, and reduced-fee options are available. A New Story works only for families and accepts no payment from schools.
