As of November 2024, families and professionals can access two new resources about Functional Behavioral Assessments or FBAs.
The US Department of Education released new guidance on FBAs, which are designed to identify the reasons behind, or factors contributing to, a student’s behavior. FBAs support school personnel and families in understanding behaviors and are the foundation of behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) or behavioral support plans.
In addition, Formed Families Forward held a webinar earlier in November about what families should know about FBAs to maximize the benefits for their students.
