Parent/caregiver support in fall 2014 … and new Peer-to-Peer groups…
Formed Families Forward is pleased to offer support groups for parents and caregivers of children and youth with disabilities and other special needs. In partnership with Crossroads Counseling Center, FFF is supporting the participation of eight parents and caregivers in each of two eight-week groups per year, FREE of charge to families. Groups are facilitated by professional counselors and provide an opportunity for parent/caregiver education on topics related to raising children who may present challenging behavior or other special needs. The groups are also a safe place for sharing struggles and celebrating successes.
Location of groups will be determined by enrollment of families in the groups; we will strive to schedule locations of convenience to the majority of interested parties. Our summer 2013 group was a great success. We are forming new groups for parents or caregivers for Fall 2014 in Manassas. Children ages 7- 12 years may be able to join a free social skills group at the same time!

In addition, Formed Families Forward is sponsoring peer-to-peer support meetings in the Fairfax area, for youth and young adults 14 and older.
