DESCRIPTION:Presented by Formed Families Forward\, this one-hour webinar overviews the first phases of the special education process. \nAccess to special education and related services for children and youth with disabilities starts with referral and evaluation to determine eligibility. This process can be complex and overwhelming for foster\, adoptive and kinship families new to the process. DESCRIPTION:Hosted by FFF\, this one day class is delivered in person and fully in Spanish. \nThank you to Potomac Health Foundation for support of the Positive Parenting in PW classes. \nCrianza Positiva en Prince William utiliza un programa comprobado de capacitación para padres (Positive Solutions for Families) que ayuda a las familias a apoyar las habilidades sociales y emocionales de los niños\, comprender las conductas problemáticas y utilizar estrategias positivas para enseñar a los niños los comportamientos que necesitan para tener éxito. Abordaremos maneras de manejar conductas desafiantes y las necesidades de salud mental de los niños. Estas sesiones ofrecen a padres y cuidadores estrategias clave que pueden ser útiles con niños de todas las edades y con diferentes necesidades. \nDurante la clase\, hablaremos sobre una variedad de enfoques positivos que apoyan la autorregulación\, la independencia\, la cooperación y las habilidades para resolver problemas en los niños.
