Spring Forward 2021 Digital Edition: Foster, Adoptive and Kinship Family Event
April 17 @ 9:45 am - 11:00 am EDT
Since 2014, Formed Families Forward has hosted an annual Spring Forward Foster, Adoptive and Kinship Family Fun Day. This year, our fun day will be an abbreviated family fun event online!
There will be virtual activities for the whole family:
- Children ages 5 – 12 will spring into music with NeuroSound Music Therapy through an interactive, virtual music therapy session where participants will target developmental, social and emotional skills through music while engaging in movement, singing, stories and active music making. Participating children must be able to focus on a screen device and use a camera and microphone
- Teens and young adults will have their own session with special keynote speaker, Oleg Lougheed, an adoptee and founder of Overcoming Odds. Oleg will share his personal experience surrounding resiliency and strength and then share how participants can use their personal stories to overcome adversity, suffering and struggle in achieving their personal success.
- Parent, caregivers and professionals will have a facilitated peer-to-peer discussion around issues that really impact foster, adoptive and kinship families.
The event is FREE but registration is required! Raffle prizes awarded in each virtual room!
