Managing Challenging Behaviors in Teens

October 24, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Manipulation, resistance, defiance and engaging in risky behaviors are some of the challenges parents may encounter from their teens with disabilities.  In this workshop, parents will gain practical strategies to address problem behaviors and help their teen stay safe and grow into responsible young adults.  The speaker is the creator of The Gresham Survey, a study  about the over-identification of African American males with emotional disturbance.  He is the author of Why The Sun Rises: The Faces and Stories of Women in Education.

Presented by:  Doran Gresham, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Special Education for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Learners, The George Washington University
